**Information for prospective summer interns**
Undergraduates with a strong inclination towards research are encouraged to apply for internships. In your email to me, please present the following information in the suggested order. I wont be able to respond to generic emails for internships!
1. Your academic background, grades, etc.
2. The duration of your internship: only 3 months or longer internships are encouraged
3. Your background knowledge in hydrology
4. Your background knowledge in coding in Matlab/R/Python/C++/etc.
5. Research proposal (~250 words): Please go through the list of publications on this website or on my scholar/ researchgate page. I suggest you scan these papers, at the least reading the abstracts. Identify research areas that interest you and highlight them in your email to me. You can potentially suggest other topics based on relevant literature from hydrology or water resource management.
Additionally, please go through the procedure outlined here, which is required for any student who wishes to do internship at IIT Bombay. These steps are for both BTech/MTech internships. Once we chalk out a rough plan for your stay here, go ahead and finish the online application process here.

Applicants interested to work with us for their PhDs are encouraged to contact me via email to discuss research interests, a month or so before the interview date. In your email to me, mention in the following order (in that order):

2. Your background knowledge in hydrology: courses in hydraulics, hydrology, water resources management you have taken, and any additional training through workshops or work experience.
3. Your background knowledge in coding in Matlab/R/Python/C++/etc.: examples of projects where you used the software.
